Don’t let anyone tell you that ideas are worthless.

All too often in this world of endless startup hoopla and buzz mayhem there are legions of would be cake eaters lined up to tell you that whatever your idea is, it’s surely not cake. Its easy for them to say that. I mean you are there, they are over there, and that is clearly the gap. If you are sitting on the idea, in their minds you must act on it with Steve Jobs like conviction else wise its nothing, not even a whimper in the solar system. You make no noise to them. But I beg to differ, I think you scare the crap outa them. Ideas are golden, horde them, act on them by your own speed but never ever think they are useless.

Execution is suckers argument. They are envious of your icing, or better yet, your ability to make your cake stand out with little to no energy. When you have an idea, most likely it came to you from the ether of it all, you stumbled up on it, the light went off in your head, you slaved away doing X, and suddenly Y apppeared. An idea can define you, give you a hint at what you are, who you are, its your little unborn concept, ready, full of energy.

You can execute ideas in multitude of ways. Cake eating pros will bark at you saying that only on their terms can your idea really be any good. Take a moment to observe their footing, why would they do that? Control. Cake eaters need more cake, they want your cake, clearly you can’t manifest your idea to real cakedom in their eyes, they must bark at you until you collapse either giving them the cake or removing cake status from your own idea.

Execution often carries with it this notion of total and absolution compeltion of greatness in the eyes of the cake eater. Thats lame at best.

I say to you, ready set manifest your own ideas on whatever scale you wish. Don’t bend to the realities of cake eaters but instead manifest your ideas in your way. Take those ideas and act on them, research on them, ponder them, draw them, wonder them, taste them.

BKL, thats Big Kitty Labs for new readers here, is my attempt to do just that with ideas. I’ll execute them on a small scale, harnessing their newborn like energy, leaving them free to mutate and show me yet even more ideas. But they will never be disregarded as nada, nothing, lame or wasted just because they don’t meet some snobby cake eaters definition of acted upon idea goodness. Its a trap to fall for that petty landscape of bickering doubt. Your mind is powerful device, do not rob it of grace and wonder, stand behind your ideas and manifest them at your own pace, on your own terms. You’ll grow with self respect and learn to harness even more ideas.

Remember however… that all ideas spring from the source, and that source is within us all. Your ideas may just be reflections of a notion that for now rest in your hands but may actually be in others as well. All ideas have a window of manifestation I think. The sooner you can realize your idea is potential cake the better. So start small and get out there and poke and prod that idea, ask more questions, draw a doodle, write up the experience journey of the idea, keep it alive with more energy, pull from the source, realize the window and welcome the fact you’re probably not alone in holding that incredible goodness.
